Bright Minds, Bright Futures!

We are proud to announce the winners of this years’ Youth Tour: Olivia Kastor and Julia McClain

Olivia Kastor and Julia McClain will represent our co-op on a trip to Washington, D.C. There, they will join 1,500 other high school students from around the U.S. to learn about electric cooperatives, American history, and the United States government.

Students will visit the historic sites of the nation’s capital, explore museums, memorials, monuments and get a chance to meet with their congressional leaders. They’ll also meet with Youth Tour alumni who currently serve as interns or staffers on Capitol Hill. Representing EnergyUnited on this trip is an excellent way to bolster college applications and have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to bond with fellow students.

And for those more athletically inclined, we offer the annual Touchstone Energy Sports Camp. Scholarships will be awarded to one young man and one young woman to attend the Roy Williams Carolina Basketball Camp at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (June 22-26), and the Wolfpack Basketball camp at North Carolina State University in Raleigh (June 9-12).

Fifth, sixth, and seventh grade students currently enrolled at a qualifying school within EnergyUnited’s 19 county service area can apply online at our website for an all-expense paid four-day experience. Applications are due March 15, 2019.
