The Season of Giving

See how EnergyUnited gives back to the community in keeping with the spirit of the season.

This is a joyous time for so many of us—family comes to town, yummy food and beverages make their appearance, and songs of good cheer fill the air. For many, however, this time of the year is not so fortunate. As your local connection we do our best to remember that some may be faced with hardships that deserve relief. It is a tremendous honor that we can provide some comfort to those individuals, so that they too may enjoy this special season.

This year the EnergyUnited Foundation presented a $10,000 check to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County to provide support for its Rainbow Kidz program. Rainbow Kidz is a unique community resource dedicated to meeting the specials needs of children and their families during one of the most difficult moments a family could ever face. This donation will allow the foundation to provide additional materials to support in-school and individual grief counseling programs.

As money tends to be a stressor during this time of year, we were also proud to support The Advocacy Center of Davie County with a $10,000 donation to provide support for the organization’s efforts in serving those who have experienced a recent financial crisis.

And finally, we delivered a special donation of $1,020 to the First Responders Support Services (FRSS) of Statesville. The donation was made as the result of the electric co-op’s partnership with the Touchstone Energy Hot Air Balloon Team. FRSS offers counseling, chaplaincy and financial crisis aid. First responders can struggle with the same challenges that others go through — bills, divorce, and family death.

We are happy to have had the honor of giving to those that we could. We hope you enjoy the gift of one another this season, and the power of staying connected.
