At EnergyUnited, you’re so much more than a customer, you’re a valued member who has a say in our direction and leadership. Since 1998, EnergyUnited has been owned and governed by members like you. Your vote in the EnergyUnited Board of Directors Election is your voice in your cooperative, a chance to weigh in on leaders who will represent you and your interests. Elected directors serve three-year terms.
Part of the value of being a member-owner of EnergyUnited is the opportunity to participate in the annual election of our board of directors and choose our cooperative’s leadership. The board of directors that you elect has the final say on all major decisions made by your cooperative, from the policies that are set to the rates we charge for electricity to overseeing the chief executive officer position that manages EnergyUnited’s daily operations.
Members who have shared an email address with the cooperative will receive an electronic mail ballot on August 10. All other members will receive a mail-in ballot in the U.S. Mail sometime after August 10. Members who choose to vote by mail-in ballot should return the ballot in the provided postage-paid envelope and sent directly to Survey and Ballot Systems. This year’s election opens on August 10 and closes September 10, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. EST. If you have not received an electronic mail ballot or a mail-in ballot by August 11, please contact Survey and Ballot Systems directly at 952-974-2339 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Cooperative’s Bylaws you must have been a member on July 13 to vote in the 2018 EnergyUnited Board of Directors Election. Make sure your vote counts! Please read all of the directions provided with your ballot very carefully. Improperly cast or delivered ballots will not be counted. It is important to cast your vote and help us meet the minimum voting requirement to validate the election.
Voting will be open Friday, August 10, 2018. If you shared your email address with EnergyUnited, you will receive electronic mail ballot on August 10. Otherwise, you will be sent a mail-in ballot in the U.S. mail. Voting ends on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. EST.
Members are nominated to be director candidates by the Nominating Committee (PDF) or by Member Petition. The EnergyUnited Board of Directors Election is independently administered by Survey and Ballot Systems (SBS). The Credentials and Elections Committee certifies the EnergyUnited Board of Directors Election results and makes the final decision concerning any election related issue.
