ENERGYUNITED FOUNDATION DONATES $300,000 TO DELIVER CRITICAL COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE

STATESVILLE, N.C. – The EnergyUnited Foundation has awarded nearly $300,000 in grants this year — delivering critical community assistance to individuals, families and nonprofit organizations across 19 counties.

From April through June, the EnergyUnited Foundation approved grants for seven nonprofit organizations, 45 individuals and 32 utility bill assistance applications. Foundation and cooperative leaders met with representatives from each nonprofit to recognize the positive impact they are making in local communities.

Nonprofit recipients included Hearts for the Invisible Charlotte Coalition, HealthReach Community Clinic, Piedmont Veterans Assistance Council, Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, Main Street Mission of China Grove, HELP Carolina Inc. and The Bridge Community.

“These nonprofit organizations are the heartbeat of our communities,” said LaQuisha Parks, vice president of energy services and corporate communications for EnergyUnited. “Their unwavering commitment to lifting others up is an inspiration to us all, and we are honored to support their missions as they create lasting change.”

The EnergyUnited Foundation is a voluntary, member-funded nonprofit organization supported by EnergyUnited’s Operation Round-Up program. More than 83,000 EnergyUnited members participate in the program by rounding up their electric bills each month. The maximum monthly contribution for an individual member with one account is 99 cents. These small contributions are pooled into a single fund managed by the Foundation to support needy individuals, families and essential nonprofit organizations that submit applications requesting assisting for grave needs for housing, utilities and humane needs.
