ENERGYUNITED ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF CFO ALEC NATT AND APPOINTMENT OF CODY SCHALL AS SUCCESSOR

STATESVILLE, N.C. – EnergyUnited announces the retirement of Alec Natt, chief financial officer (CFO), following 25 years of dedicated service to the cooperative and its members. Cody Schall, who currently serves in a senior finance leadership role at EnergyUnited, will succeed Natt as CFO effective August 21.

“Alec’s impact at EnergyUnited goes well beyond the numbers,” said Thomas Golden, chief executive officer of EnergyUnited. “He has helped build confidence in our financial decisions by bringing steady judgment, transparency and a deep understanding of what those decisions mean for our members, employees and the communities we serve. His leadership has strengthened the cooperative in ways that will continue to benefit EnergyUnited long after his retirement.”

Natt has served EnergyUnited in a key financial leadership role, helping guide the cooperative through important periods of growth, investment and operational change. Throughout his tenure, he worked closely with the Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team and employees across the organization to support the cooperative’s long-term financial strategy and commitment to member service.

“It has been a privilege to serve EnergyUnited and its members,” Natt said. “I am proud of what our team has accomplished together, and I am confident the cooperative is well positioned for continued success under Cody’s financial leadership.”

Schall joined EnergyUnited in 2021 and has played an important role in the cooperative’s financial operations. Before joining EnergyUnited, he served as chief financial officer for an electric cooperative in Illinois, where he gained valuable experience in cooperative finance and utility operations.

“Cody brings the right combination of cooperative experience, analytical discipline and forward-looking perspective to this role,” Golden said. “He understands the importance of balancing long-term financial health with the everyday needs of our members. That perspective will be especially valuable as EnergyUnited continues planning for growth, managing industry change and investing in a brighter energy future.”

As chief financial officer, Schall will serve on EnergyUnited’s Executive Leadership Team and oversee the cooperative’s finance and accounting operations. He will also be responsible for coordinating and monitoring EnergyUnited’s power supply portfolio, managing risk and overseeing contract reviews. In partnership with the Executive Leadership Team, Schall will help guide the cooperative’s long-term financial strategy while supporting its continued commitment to operational excellence.
