ENERGYUNITED BOARD DIRECTOR EARNS BOARD LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATE

STATESVILLE, N.C. – EnergyUnited Board Director Jill Doss-Raines recently received the Board Leadership Certificate (BLC) from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).

An ever-changing business environment has imposed new demands on electric cooperative directors, requiring increased knowledge of changes in the electric utility business, new governance skills and a solid understanding of cooperative principles and the cooperative business model. EnergyUnited is committed to sharpening this body of knowledge to benefit its members.

The Board Leadership Certificate (BLC) recognizes directors who continue their professional development after earning the Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) designation. To achieve the BLC, directors complete 10 credits in advanced, issues-oriented courses covering a range of governance and industry topics.

“I want to congratulate Jill on earning her Board Leadership Certificate,” said Thomas Golden, chief executive officer of EnergyUnited. “Her achievement reflects EnergyUnited’s commitment to strong, informed board leadership and ongoing education to best serve our members.”

EnergyUnited encourages continuing education and professional development at all levels of the cooperative. This commitment helps ensure board directors are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective governance and serve the best interests of the cooperative’s members.
