ENERGYUNITED BOARD DIRECTOR EARNS BOARD LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATE

STATESVILLE, N.C. – EnergyUnited Board Director Lisa Campbell Pullis of Iredell County, who represents District 1, recently earned the Board Leadership Certificate (BLC) from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).

An ever-changing business environment has imposed new demands on electric cooperative directors, requiring increased knowledge of changes in the electric utility business, new governance skills and a solid knowledge of the cooperative principles and business model. EnergyUnited is committed to sharpening this body of knowledge to benefit its members.

The NRECA Board Leadership Certificate recognizes individuals who continue their professional development after becoming a Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD). Directors who have attained the BLC have completed 10 credits in advance, issues-oriented courses.

“We’re proud to recognize Lisa for earning her Board Leadership Certificate,” said Thomas Golden, chief executive officer of EnergyUnited. “Her commitment to ongoing education demonstrates the value EnergyUnited places on informed leadership and reinforces our promise to serve our members with integrity, accountability and sound governance.”

EnergyUnited encourages continuing education and professional development at all levels of the cooperative. By investing in ongoing learning, the cooperative helps ensure its board directors have the knowledge and skills needed to provide effective governance in an evolving energy landscape.
