ENERGYUNITED BOARD DIRECTOR EARNS DIRECTOR GOLD CREDENTIAL

STATESVILLE, N.C. – EnergyUnited Board Director Zolee Riggs recently earned the Director Gold Credential (DGC) from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).

The Director Gold Credential recognizes directors who have already earned their Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) and Board Leadership Certificate (BLC) and wish to continue learning throughout their service on the board. To achieve the DGC, directors complete three additional credits from the BLC series of courses and commit to ongoing education, earning three approved credits, or attending conferences every two years to maintain their status.

“The Director Gold certificate is geared toward directors who are committed to continuing their education beyond CCD and BLC and who desire a tangible credential that reinforces their stature as part of an experienced and educated group of directors,” said Thomas Golden, chief executive officer of EnergyUnited. “Director Gold also demonstrates to our members a director’s ongoing commitment to advancing their knowledge and performing their fiduciary duties to the best of their ability.”

EnergyUnited encourages continuing education and professional development at all levels of the cooperative. This commitment ensures that board directors are well equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective governance and serve the best interests of the cooperative’s members.
