ENERGYUNITED FOUNDATION AWARDS $10,000 TO IREDELL HEALTH FOUNDATION

STATESVILLE, N.C. – The EnergyUnited Foundation has awarded a grant in the amount of $10,000 to the Iredell Health Foundation to provide funding for Iredell Health System’s new Cancer Rehabilitation program.

For nearly 40 years, Iredell Health System (Iredell Memorial Hospital) has led our community in innovative and effective rehabilitation programming. Iredell Health System is again expanding its rehabilitation programming to meet the complex needs of oncology patients at all stages of diagnosis.

“We are grateful to receive this donation from the EnergyUnited Foundation to support Iredell Health System’s new Cancer Rehabilitation program, which will begin in early 2023,” said Jennifer Balog, executive director of the Iredell Health Foundation. “This grant offers crucial support as we strive to help cancer patients cope with the activities of daily living affected by their cancer experience.”

“The EnergyUnited Foundation is proud to support the Iredell Health Foundation and Iredell Health System’s new Cancer Rehabilitation program,” said Debra Citta, administrator of the EnergyUnited Foundation. “Cancer patients often struggle with a myriad of issues and rehabilitative needs that may not otherwise be met without access to these services.”

The EnergyUnited Foundation is a voluntary, member-funded non-profit organization supported by EnergyUnited’s Operation Round-Up program. Nearly 90,000 EnergyUnited members choose to participate in the program by ‘rounding up’ their electric bills each month. The maximum monthly contribution for an individual member with one account is 99 cents. Each of these small contributions are pooled together in a single fund managed by the EnergyUnited Foundation to support needy individuals, families, and non-profit organizations that complete an application explaining the reason and purpose for their requested grant.
