ENERGYUNITED FOUNDATION CELEBRATES $10 MILLION IN CHARITABLE GIVING
STATESVILLE, N.C. – Thanks to the generosity of EnergyUnited members, the EnergyUnited Foundation is celebrating a major milestone: $10 million in total charitable giving. The milestone was reached in December 2025 as the Foundation awarded grants to individuals, families and local nonprofit organizations.
For more than 30 years, the Foundation has helped strengthen local communities by addressing essential needs, including housing assistance, utility support and critical home repairs. Funded entirely by members who voluntarily participate in the cooperative’s Operation Round-Up program, the EnergyUnited Foundation delivers timely assistance each month to support neighbors in need.
In 2025 alone, the EnergyUnited Foundation distributed $717,199.81 in assistance, including $505,262.96 in direct individual and family support. These funds supported life-changing projects, including a recent grant partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Davie County that provided critical home improvements for a local family.
Through the Foundation’s partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Davie County, meaningful home modifications were made to improve safety, accessibility and everyday comfort for Davie County resident Ruby and her son, Freddy. By updating the home’s entrances and creating a more functional bathroom tailored to Freddy’s needs, the collaboration helped provide the family with a more secure living environment—one that better supports their daily life and long-term well-being.
“This truly has been a blessing for our family,” Ruby said. “We are so thankful for the home repairs made possible by the EnergyUnited Foundation and Habitat for Humanity of Davie County. The Foundation’s support has helped make our home safer for my son and me.”
Stories like Ruby and Freddy’s illustrate what the $10 million milestone truly represents. Behind every dollar given is a family facing real challenges and a community stepping forward to help. These moments of impact bring meaning to the Foundation’s long-standing commitment to serving individuals and families across EnergyUnited’s service area.
“Reaching $10 million in giving reflects the collective generosity of our members,” said LaQuisha Parks, vice president of energy services and corporate communications for EnergyUnited. “Small monthly contributions grow into real help for families and organizations when they need it most. Over time, those small gifts have created a powerful and lasting impact in our communities.”
Beyond the numbers, each contribution represents a person or organization receiving timely support. The Foundation regularly hears directly from recipients through letters, photos and updates—stories that are shared during Foundation board meetings and serve as reminders of the program’s real-world impact.
The EnergyUnited Foundation is guided by a nine-member volunteer board composed of community members from within the cooperative’s service area. Board members bring diverse professional experience and generously volunteer their time to ensure thoughtful evaluation of applications and responsible stewardship of funds.
Looking ahead, the Foundation remains grounded in its mission and in the collective power of members working together, proving that even the smallest contributions can create big and meaningful change.
