EnergyUnited has been informed that the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) has canceled the in-person trip to Washington, D.C. this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the experience will be offered for students to participate in virtually this June. We understand this decision is disappointing for applicants who applied for this opportunity. However, EnergyUnited and North Carolina’s electric cooperatives are committed to delivering an equally exciting experience for students who are selected to participate in the virtual event that will be held this June.
We also understand that several new students may be interested in applying for this youth leadership opportunity now that this decision has been announced. Therefore, we are reopening our application period for all students who are interested in applying for the NC Virtual Youth Tour this June. Interested students can still apply online using the link below.
All EnergyUnited applicants must reside in a home or attend a high school serviced by EnergyUnited.
EnergyUnited is dedicated to building a brighter energy future for its members by supporting beneficial electrification initiatives and by continuing to increase its utilization of renewable energy resources. When you think of a brighter energy future for your community, what do you envision? How can electric cooperatives like EnergyUnited support your vision?
