Payment Options

Every month you will receive an electric bill from EnergyUnited prepared on the basis of a meter reading. Meters are read on or about the same day each month. Payment is due upon receipt and will be considered delinquent if payment is not received by EnergyUnited on or before the due date indicated on the bill.

payment-optionsPayments may be made by bank draft; phone (via check, debit, or credit card); mail (check or money order); after-hours deposit facility (check or money order); in person at any EnergyUnited office or authorized payment agent location; via online banking; or the EnergyUnited web site (via check, debit or credit card). American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards are accepted.

Bank Draft

Members may choose to have monthly electric bills drafted from their savings or checking accounts by providing EnergyUnited the account number and banking transit number. Banking accounts will be drafted approximately 10 days after the billing date shown on the statement. Members will continue to receive electric bills each month reflecting the amount that will be drafted from their account.

Authorized Payment Agents

It is convenience at its best…Pay your bill at one of our authorized payment agent locations. EnergyUnited has partnered with Global Express Financial Services to establish a payment agent network across our service area. This network includes businesses such as grocery stores and convenience stores with extended and/or weekend operations, so you can pay your bill at a time and location that is convenient for YOU.

Need to get your payment to us fast – no problem! An advantage of the payment agent network is that payments will post to your account immediately.

Online Bill Pay via EnergyUnited’s Website

EnergyUnited members can pay their bills online through EnergyUnited’s website by logging into their account. Once signed in, members can view their bill information and make payments. All transactions are handled through a secure website to ensure protection of your personal information.

Pay By Phone with Credit Card, Debit Card, or Electronic Check with Paymentus

Simply dial 1-800-215-7315 and follow the easy prompts to make immediate payments by credit card, debit card, or electronic check using Paymentus. Please have your account number available when using this option. There is a convenience fee of $2.30 per payment and Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards are accepted. No part of this fee goes to EnergyUnited.

Budget Billing

Under this payment plan, members can take the worry and uncertainty out of fluctuating electric bills by paying the same amount each month. Those members with residential accounts who have at least 12 months of billing history at their current location are eligible to enroll in the Budget Billing Plan. The monthly payment amount is computed from the average of the last 12 months’ usage. We perform an annual recalculation of these payments in May of each year with the new payment amounts reflected on the June bills. Any credit or debit balances at the time of recalculation is equalized over the next 12 months. In addition, periodic reviews are often conducted during the plan year for those accounts with large credit or debit balances, and these reviews could result in a change in the monthly payment amount at a time other than the annual recalculation.

In order to remain on the Budget Billing Plan, the monthly payment must be paid when due. Failure to pay on or before the due date will automatically remove your account from this plan.

You can sign up for the Budget Billing Plan by logging in at the account page and selecting the “Budget Billing” button on the left. This feature will allow you to obtain a quote for your monthly payment amount. You will then be given the option to establish the plan or cancel the request. As an alternative, you can also contact Customer Care at 1-800-522-3793.

Online Banking Payment

Members may pay their monthly electric bills through their personal online banking service. Members who use their online banking service should allow enough time for the payment to reach EnergyUnited in order to prevent penalty fees and/or disconnection of service. Payments made by one’s personal online banking service may not reach EnergyUnited for 7-10 business days. If a member’s electric service is scheduled to be disconnected for non-payment, the online bank payment may not reach EnergyUnited in time to prevent interruption of electric service. We suggest you check with your bank to determine the length of time it will take for EnergyUnited to receive your payment.

Kiosk

Members can now pay their bill at a new kiosk located at our headquarters office in Statesville.  This new payment option makes paying bills easier than ever before. Members can use the kiosk to pay electric bills by cash, credit card, debit card, check and most importantly, payments post immediately to your account.

The kiosk is anticipated to make it easier for you to do business with EnergyUnited 24 hours a day. If you make a payment in cash, the kiosk will dispense bills, but will not provide change. Instead, you will have the option to donate to the Operation Round-Up Program or apply the change to your next bill. For example, if your bill is $79.80, you can credit the 20 cents to Operation Round-Up or you can credit the change to your bill for the next month. We are excited to offer this new donation option to make it even more convenient for our members to give back to those in need in local community.

EnergyUnited Account App

In an effort to help you better manage your account while you’re on the go, we are excited to announce that the EnergyUnited Account App is now available as a free download in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

This new application features a streamlined design and plenty of exciting features. The app allows you to use your smartphone to view your online account, pay your bill and report an outage, all from your mobile device. Additionally, the app allows you to receive important alerts from EnergyUnited directly  on your phone. Download the EnergyUnited Account App today and get connected!
