ENERGYUNITED DONATES $1,000 TO COVER THE CITY PROJECT

STATESVILLE, N.C. – The EnergyUnited Foundation is pleased to announce its recent donation of $1,000 to the Cover the City Project, a nonprofit organization that provides blankets for homeless individuals.

The grant from the EnergyUnited Foundation will be used to provide new blankets and socks for the homeless population in Davidson and Mecklenburg counties. The blankets and socks will provide much needed warmth for the homeless populations as cooler temperatures are felt in the coming weeks.

“The EnergyUnited Foundation values and appreciates the efforts of Cover the City to provide warmth for those who are facing such adversity,” said EnergyUnited Foundation Administrator Debra Citta. “We are happy to support organizations like the Cover the City Project at any time, but feel we have an even greater responsibility to do what we can to help during these unprecedented times.”

“We are grateful to receive this donation from the EnergyUnited Foundation,” said Amanda Anderson, executive director of Cover the City. “Our organization relies on donations from community partners and charitable organizations like the EnergyUnited Foundation to continue to meet this urgent need.”

The EnergyUnited Foundation is a voluntary, member-funded non-profit organization supported by EnergyUnited’s Operation Round-Up program. Over 70,000 EnergyUnited members choose to participate in the program by ‘rounding up’ their electric bills each month. The maximum monthly contribution for an individual member with one account is 99 cents. Each of these small contributions are pooled together in a single fund managed by the EnergyUnited Foundation to support needy individuals, families, and essential nonprofit organizations that complete an application explaining the reason and purpose for their requested grant.
