STATESVILLE, N.C.– EnergyUnited recently presented a donation of $7,500 to United Way of Iredell County in recognition of their outstanding contributions and impact in the community. The donation was made possible thanks to corporate and employee contributions, as well as a special matching grant from CoBank, a cooperative bank that provides essential financial services to electric cooperatives like EnergyUnited. CoBank’s matching grant was part of the organization’s Sharing Success grant program.
“Over the past seven years, Sharing Success has enabled CoBank to partner with our customers, doubling their charitable contributions to causes and organizations they care about most,” says Gabriel Labastida, Vice President of CoBank. “We appreciate the generosity of EnergyUnited and its commitment to the communities it serves. We are delighted to join them in this contribution and grateful for the opportunity to fulfill our mission of service to rural America.”
Maureen Moore, communications manager for EnergyUnited, expressed appreciation for their strong partnership with CoBank, and said she believes that the Statesville-headquartered cooperative could not have selected a worthier organization as the beneficiary of this collaborative fundraising effort. United Way of Iredell County supports so many essential community services,” Moore explained. “We were proud to select their organization as the beneficiary of this collaborative fundraising effort and jointly highlight the importance of giving back to the people in our community.”
Brett Eckerman, executive director of United Way, joined Moore in celebrating the partnership between the two local organizations.
“EnergyUnited is a generous and dedicated partner in our work to serve the needs of people in Iredell County and across this region,” Eckerman said. “Their leadership and focus on creating successful and thriving communities is commendable. We are most grateful for the opportunity this donation will give us to meet basic needs and change lives for the better.”
